As Thomaskantor, Bach was responsible for overseeing music at the St. Thomas Church and the St. Nicholas Church. This period proved to be exceptionally prolific, with Bach creating some of his most celebrated compositions.
Bach’s output during his Leipzig years included a significant number of choral works, cantatas, and oratorios.
